S’mores Cookies & Ginger Snaps
Every year around the holidays I have this list of things I’d like to do during the season. And one thing that is always on my list is to make Christmas cookies. To me, Christmas cookies don’t have to be decorated just so, but there have to be enough to share. And ideally, I’d put them in bags, tie pretty bows on them and give them to my neighbors. Well, it liked to kill me, but mission accomplished! I have to thank Brogan for this feat, because first thing this morning, he started asking for us to make cookies. Since the hub’s new job means he works every weekend, anything…

Day 12, 13 and 14 – Coffee, Ice Cubes and Cookies
I’m a couple of days behind… and then figured I’d go ahead and give the sneak preview on what Max is up to tonight. Day 12 – Max has been pulling some late nights getting in to all this trouble and needed a caffeine fix. Day 13 – Max nearly turned into an ice cube! Lucky for him, his head was too big to fit into the cube, so he’s only partially frozen. When Brogan asked if he was cold, I reminded him that Max is from the North Pole where it is much colder than it is in our freezer. Made sense to him. Day 14 – Sneak peak……

Day 11 – Bandaid Bandit
Max got the inspiration for this stunt from Brogan – my child who has been known to wake up in the middle of the night and adorn himself with bandaids (and gloves too). So imagine Brogan’s excitement when our elf was up to his own tricks! Click here to see what else our elf has done this year.

Day 10 – Max the Mummy
Ole Max turned into a mummy last night. I wasn’t home when Brogan woke up this morning to get his initial reaction, but this afternoon when I asked him what Max had done, he said, “Mommy, you won’t believe it!! Max is a mummy!” Making Christmas time magical for him (and Beckett – although he doesn’t quite get what’s going on) is just so awesome! Click here to see what else our elf has done this year.

Day 9 – Beach Day
So Max (and me) have been a little jealous of all my Florida friends and family posting pictures at the beach and on the lake in 80-degree weather (in December!!) while we’re in day 8 of rain and it’s 42 degrees. Well Max decided it was time for a little beach getaway… When Brogan saw Max, he promptly decided he’d taste the sand (so glad Max opted for brown sugar!). Oh Santa, why aren’t you here year-round?
This is the first year that Brogan really gets the concept of Santa. He knows that Santa brings presents to good boys and girls and being the self-aware toddler that he is, knows that where he lies on that “naughty and nice” spectrum is a little questionable. If you’ve read any of my kid-related posts, you know that it’s been a struggle to find this child’s currency. And while I’m happy to report that our recent shift in focus on the positive and rewards versus punishment has shown us some improvement, there is nothing, I repeat, nothing that gets my little misbehaver to mind like the mention of Santa. Now…

Day 8 – Carnival Ride
We think Max has lost his mind… he turned our fan into a carnival ride! The boys were both pretty amazed at this one. Beckett would just stand in the living room looking up at all these swinging toys and grin. Too fun! 🙂 Click here to see what else our elf has done this year.

Day 7 – Roasting Marshmallows
No campfire to be found so Max found the next best thing. After finding Max, Brogan promptly requested some marshmallows… Click here to see what else our elf has done this year.

Day 6 – Strung Up
Our elf got into a bit of a pickle last night… seems as though the green army men got the best of him. Not to worry, we’re pretty sure Max can get out of it! Brogan was amazed with this one! But the awe and wonder wore off just as soon as he realized he couldn’t play with his dump truck for the day (notice it is what’s holding the rope Max is swinging by). Perhaps Max can get a clue and stop messing with Brogan’s favorite things. Or not, because after all, it’s not like Brogan does what he’s told. 🙂 Click here to see what else our elf has…

Day 5 – Chocolate War
So our elf got into a little chocolate combat with some of his friends last night… While initially excited, when Brogan discovered that Max had used all of his Oreos to build his fortress, he was slightly miffed. Oops. Click here to see what else our elf has done this year.
