About Me

Hi, I’m Jess. I’m a wife and mom of three. I’m passionate about helping busy mamas find joy in their crazy. I teach people how to dominate dinner through a holistic approach that goes beyond just a meal plan. I’m a follower of Jesus, breast cancer survivor, writer, full-time working gal, home cook, over-the-top party planner, photographer and creator of pretty things. I believe that anything is possible with prayer, a positive attitude, and perseverance. I believe that planning and preparation pays off. I have experienced firsthand that life isn’t always easy, but you can still find the beauty in it.

This blog is a place where I share my story and my passions – I hope some part of my journey will encourage you. Whether it’s tips on how to dominate dinner, my triumphs as a cancer survivor, my latest culinary pursuits, a themed party, or my misadventures in motherhood – I hope you find something here for you!

I grew up in central Florida, but have called the Atlanta suburbs home for almost 15 years. I’ve been married to my hubby Blake for over a decade and we have three sweet and crazy kiddos: Brogan (9), Beckett (7) and Berkley (4). I love cooking dinner for my family. I am a UF grad (and huge Gator fan), a Pinterest addict, a minivan driver, a Nikon shooter, an InstantPot evangilist, who plans life from a spreadsheet. I’m in continual pursuit of the life God has called me to live.

Good morning from Oklahoma! I’m not really sure how I happened upon your blog. After all, I was doing a search on Blake Shelton *shoulder shrug*, but here I am. 🙂 I’m enjoying reading your post. Most of them make me giggle a little. I’ve recently thought a lot about starting a blog. There are so many interesting, funny, or just things that make me go hmmm during the day. Anyway, just wanted you to know, you’ve inspired me. I look forward to reading “Biscuits and Crazy.”

Thank you Gail! I had the same sort of thoughts when I started this blog in July and then realized I had much more to write about than I ever thought! So happy I could pay forward some inspiration! If you do start a blog, drop me a line so I can follow you! Thanks again for the sweet words!

Carolyn – Thank you for your very thoughtful message. One of the reasons I put my life out here on this blog is to connect with people who can relate, and since I know that I haven’t got it all figured out, I appreciate good advice. So thank you for that. Brogan’s behavior is very up and down – we go through periods where it is just relentless and then hit a stage where it’s “easier”. I did ask my pediatrician for a referral a while back for oppositional defiance disorder (based on a recommendation from my mother-in-law who is an elementary school assistant principal), when Brogan first began being very oppositional. However soon after his behavior seemed to simmer down, and I felt a little silly bringing him in for something that was perhaps just being 3. Needless to say, I never sought the help. Perhaps his behavior issues have become my normal, and I don’t see how bad it really is, so I appreciate getting an outside perspective. His wellbeing and his impact on Beckett are obviously very important to me, and maybe another conversation with our pediatrician is warranted. Again, I appreciate your concern for my family. 🙂

Your pictures are absolutely beautiful! I’m currently almost 29weeks pregnant and looking for someone to do my maternity pics! I was wondering where you happen to live? Anywhere close to Habersham County?
If so, can u please give me some info. On your prices and details.
    Thank you!

I can’t find your email address or a contact form on here. So, here’s the message I wanted to send…
I know it’s been a while since we talked last, but I want to run something by you.
I recently took on a consultant who insists that I resolve my “guest blogger issues.” So, based on his advice…
I am offering to write specific topics on any subject you feel like I might offer insight, or just say the things you want someone else to say.
I am also opening my site up to take guest bloggers once a month.
Same terms both ways. Unedited, full credit and backlinks to the host site.
If you are up for it, just let me know. I have a few subjects in mind already. Love to hear your thoughts.
    Thank you.
